UV Sterilizer

Disinfection

Water 2000 offers a wide range of UV sterilizers utilize germicidal ultraviolet lamps that produce short wave radiation lethal to bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms present in water. Ultraviolet water treatment purification is a unique and rapid method of water disinfection without the use of heat or chemicals. Through the years ultraviolet technology has become well established as a method of choice for effective and economical water disinfection.

With decades of standard product development experience devoted to water engineering and hundreds of successful installations across the country, you can rely on Water 2000 for your water purification needs using UV. Our portfolio of U systems includes those specifically engineered and designed for large industrials, medium sized commercial, small community water treatment applications and trailer-mounted mobile systems for temporary  and emergency applications as well.

Ultraviolet (UV) is a proven, dependable and effective method of controlling and eradicating algae spores, bacteria, and protozoa without leaving any residuals in the water. Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation has shown its effectiveness to kill the majority of today’s known bacteria, viruses, molds, fungi, protozoa, and other living organisms. The environmentally-friendly UV technology used for water treatment carries several inherent advantages. UV radiation does not ‘add’ anything to the water stream such as undesirable color, odor, chemicals, taste or flavor, nor does it generate harmful by-products. It only imparts energy to the water stream in the form of ultraviolet radiation to accomplish the process of disinfection, TOC reduction or ozone destruction. UV disinfection produces no residual disinfectant to the finished water. Our UV solutions are extensively being used for treating water for various applications as pharmaceutical, hospital, municipal, industrial process, drinking water, municipal sewage, aquaculture and in recycling processes.

UV radiation destroy most of the water born microorganisms in a non-chemical manner. The powerful UV radiation penetrates the outer cell wall of the microorganism, passes through the cell body, reaches the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and alters the genetic material. Our Select UV systems feature low pressure mercury discharge lamps. These lamps are place in special transparent quartz glass tubes which transmit the UV energy to the water flowing through special chamber without allowing direct contact of water with the UV lamp. This exclusive design allows predominantly 254 nm or 185 nm UV energy to be transmitted into a water stream as it flows through the UV system’s treatment chamber. This capability allows widespread adoption of UV light as an environmentally friendly, chemical-free, and highly effective way to disinfect and safeguard water against harmful microorganisms.
